In this day and age of specialisation, I believe that there is a special need for specialist Fiduciary Lawyers, particularly with regard to the administration of Trusts. With the development of Trust law, accurate and comprehensive administration of Trusts is required in law, and the practice caters for a full range of administrative functions pertaining to the setting up of and administration of Trusts accordingly.

ABOUT US
A G JENKINS ATTORNEYS is a boutique firm, specializing in Fiduciary Law and Conveyancing.
Fiduciary Law is a term encompassing legal work involving Wills and Trusts, Estate Planning and Administration, and Personal Affairs Administration.
A Fiduciary relationship encompasses the idea of utmost faith, trust and confidence to manage and protect property, money or other assets for another person. The duties of a Fiduciary include loyalty and reasonable care of the assets within his or her custody. All of the Fiduciary’s actions are performed for the advantage of the beneficiary.
The practice is headed by Anthony (Ant) Jenkins, an Attorney and Conveyancer of 40 years standing, who commenced practise for his own account on 1 January 2010. Ant had previously been a partner in three firms of Attorneys in Pietermaritzburg, and decided at the end of 2009, to open his own practice.
Over the years, Ant has become a specialist in Fiduciary Law and his practice is very specifically aimed at this area of law, as well as Conveyancing.
The practice operates out of two offices, the main office being run from Suite 3, 24 Hilton Avenue, Hilton, Pietermaritzburg and a branch office being run from Gillitts Office Park, 2 Rodger Place, Gillitts (on Thursdays).
Ant is ably assisted by Professional Assistant Attorneys, highly experienced Estates and Trusts Paralegals, Candidate Attorneys, and private secretaries.
The practice utilises sophisticated computer software for the administration of Trusts, as well as the reporting and administration of Deceased and Curatorship Estates. The utilisation of sophisticated programmes in this regard has substantially enhanced the level of service that the practice is able to provide to its clients.
The practice prides itself in being a very personal one, and Ant and his staff make a special effort to build personal relationships with their clients, as, particularly in this area of law, they believe that relationship building and the maintaining of relationships are the central to this type of work.
Ant and his staff all possess a high level of empathy and consideration for clients who are in an emotionally fragile position in either preparing for, or administering Estates after the death of a client. Ant believes that a very personal approach should be adopted to the administration of a Deceased Estate, which is principally attended to by his Estates Paralegal, Nikita Naidoo, attorneys and candidate attorneys, but carefully monitored and supervised by Ant personally. Ant ensures that he develops a personal relationship with the family of the deceased person as this substantially enhances the ability to wind up a Deceased Estate efficiently and effectively following a death.
Ant and his staff also specialise in the drawing up of Wills and more complicated Estate Plans, and monitor the regular updating of Wills and Estate Plans from time to time with their clients.
